A MAN has been charged after two best friends were killed in a tragic Christmas crash.

Lifelong pals Ellie Crossley and Rebecca Doughty, both 20, had been driving home near Mollington, Chester after shopping for gifts for loved ones.

The horror unfolded on November 25, 2021 – just one month before Christmas.

The girls' families paid tribute to them in the days that followed the smash, saying they were "truly devastated" and would "sadly miss them".

The loved ones added: "Close friends for their short lives, they will be in our hearts forever."
