But Saints want £38m for their defender who missed all of last season with injury.

Meanwhile, Man City are set to sign RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol for £86m, according to reports.

That would make the Croatian the world's most expensive defender, and he's said to be really keen on a move to Manchester.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are leading the race to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to reports.

    Liverpool out of Gravenberch race

    Liverpool have pulled out of the race for Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch.

    According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, talks between the Reds and Gravenberch's camp took place.

    However, the Merseysiders are now concentrating on Southampton star Romeo Lavia.

    The midfielder has previously expressed his desire to stay at Bayern.

    Former Norwich boss Daniel Farke is close to joining Leeds as their new manager.

    Josko Gvardiol 'official bid'

    Manchester City are preparing an official bid for RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol.

    According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig rejected a "verbal approach" of €75million (£64m) plus add-ons by City.

    Talks continue but Leipzig are holding out for at least €100m (£86m) for Gvardiol.

    However, the Treble winners have fully agreed on personal terms with the centre-back.

    Chelsea are looking to re-sign Southampton ace and former academy product Tino Livramento.

    According to The Mail, Chelsea have held talks with Saints about adding Livramento to Mauricio Pochettino's backline.

    The Blues, though, would have to splash £38million for the right-back, just two years after selling him to St Mary's for a mere £8m.

    A potential deal, however, would entail loaning the England Under-21 international back to Russell Martin's side.

    The West Londoners, though, will deal with competition as Newcastle are in advanced talks with the 20-year-old.

    However, the Magpies have yet to meet Southampton's asking price for the versatile defender.
