Spider proposes to Toyah before she goes missing in latest Coronation Street spoilers

As Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) hopes for a future for him and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) on Coronation Street, she’s left in danger, but from who?

At a meeting with his boss, Spider is told he could have a new job soon. But that means moving away from the cobbles and being given a new identity to protect him from Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) who’s on the warpath.

When Toyah comes across Spider’s bank statements, she’s shocked to discover that her boyfriend isn’t as skint as he’s been making out. Becoming suspicious, Toyah goes through his computer and discovers Spider’s been emailing his ex-wife and searching for houses near to where she lives.

Toyah confronts Spider with her findings, and under fire, Spider explains he’s been trying to get his divorce through. Suddenly Spider produces a ring and asks Toyah to marry him. What will Toyah say?

Later on, Spider goes out on a secret job. As his colleagues wait in the sidelines, Spider waits for his enemy to show.

Meanwhile, someone arrives at the flat to see Toyah. The mysterious woman introduces herself as Spider’s wife. But when Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) bumps into Spider, he reveals his wife isn’t in the country.

Spider calls Toyah to warn her the woman is an imposter and Toyah tries to act normal until he arrives. But when Spider and Leanne burst into the flat, they find signs of a disturbance, no Toyah or Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), and blood on the floor.

Across the cobbles, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) fears Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) is dead. He reads a story in the Gazette stating that one of the brothers Damon was involved with has been arrested for the murder of a local gangster.

Adam gets more anxious and Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) finds him going through her phone. A flustered Adam tells her he needs to know if she’s heard from Damon as he’s done something really stupid.

Adam confesses how he wanted Damon out of their lives so spoke to a local gangster but now Damon might be dead. All of a sudden, Sarah tells Adam she’s bleeding and is scared she’s losing the baby. At the hospital, Adam holds Sarah’s hand as she has a scan.

Later, Adam goes to court for a case, but as he makes his speech, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) watches on as her colleague suffers a panic attack.

When Adam gets home, he and Sarah agree to announce the pregnancy to their families. Sarah has second thoughts, but the cat is out of the bag when Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard) arrives late and announces a toast to the new baby.

Elsewhere, Beth Tinker (Lisa George) lays into Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) for endangering Bertie’s life and reveals she was the one who reported her to social services.

When the social worker arrives, Gemma’s forced to admit she was looking after six children and isn’t a registered childminder. The social worker is appalled and tells Gemma she could be looking at a substantial fine.

Also, Stephen Reid's (Todd Boyce) annoyed when Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) invites her Tai-Chi instructor Gerry over to celebrate Sally Webster's (Sally Dynevor) birthday. Sabrina spots Max Turner (Paddy Bever) spending time with Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) discovers Aadi Alahan's (Adam Hussain) crush on Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney).
