Linda makes dig at Whitney over her controversial affair with Mick in EastEnders

Though most of us have tried to block that controversial EastEnders affair between Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) out of our minds, one person who just can’t let it go is scorned Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

The landlady found the perfect opportunity to make yet another dig at her ex-husband’s bit on the side a whole six years after the betrayal, as she overheard a conversation between Whitney and Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) in the café.

Whitney had been somewhat put out when newcomer Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) made a move on boyfriend Zack Hudson (James Farrar), after a misunderstanding with Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).

Elaine had confused Gina’s crush on Zack for a fondness of Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and told Gina that he was available, inevitably landing her in hot water with Whitney.

When Whitney failed to see how Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) sending Bernie a friend request on social media was a big deal, Bernie told her to stop sulking over the fact that Gina had made a move on her boyfriend, leaving Whitney furious.

As Whitney snapped at Bernie, Linda couldn’t help but get in a sly dig of her own in defence of Gina.

She told her to go easy on the newcomer, reminding Whitney that Gina was ‘not the first woman to make a move on someone else’s man’.

She was of course referencing Whitney’s controversial 2017 affair with Linda’s childhood sweetheart, Mick Carter, which caused quite a stir among Milinda fans at the time.

Linda’s comment clearly ruffled Whitney’s feathers, though boyfriend Zack warned her not to rise to it, while clearly holding back laughter himself.

Bernie seemed impressed with Linda’s defence of Gina, but ended up putting her foot in it once again by making a comment about drinking to the recovering alcoholic.

However, Bernie’s suggestion of partying her way through the awkward stage sparked an idea for Linda, who decided to organise a pamper session for her new step sisters.

Will relationships be repaired, or will this group of women continue to be at each other’s throats?
