Piers Morgan brands Madonna ‘disgusting’ over Nashville dates
Madonna labelled a ‘gruesome attention seeker’ by Morgan
Earlier this week on Instagram, Madonna, 64, revealed Nashville was among seven other cities being added to her highly-anticipated The Celebration Tour.
The singer made a point of noting that her stop in Nashville will be “to celebrate the drag and trans community” with drag icon Bob The Drag Queen in a form of protest after Tennessee recently banned public drag shows.
While the Like A Virgin singer often faces critics online, there was a negative response to her announcement as it came around the same time a transgender school shooter took the lives of six people in Nashville, including three children.
Piers Morgan, who has been a consistent critic of the global pop star for years, took to Twitter to join the discourse.
He wrote on Thursday evening, sharing an article by People announcing Madonna’s extra tour dates: “WTF? This is her response to a trans person murdering six people in a Nashville school?
“Even by Madonna’s standards this is disgusting.”
Nevertheless, Madonna has been praised by others for holding the concert in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and vowing to give proceeds to trans rights organisations.
Explaining on Instagram why she had chosen to put emphasis on her Nashville shows, Madonna wrote: “The oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; making America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color.
“Also, these so-called laws to protect. our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to f**k with a drag queen. Bob and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the Queer community!”

The devastating shooting at Christian Covenant School on Monday has proved to be a polarising subject after it was revealed that the shooter, 28-year-old Audrey Hale who was shot dead by police on the scene, identified as a transgender man.
Sky News reported that shortly after this fact was made public knowledge the hashtag #TransTerrorism started trending on Twitter.
Trans activist Kim Spoon told NBC News that the trans community was “terrified” in the wake of the shooting, adding: “More blood’s going to be shed, and it’s not going to be shed in a school.”
