Stacey and Kat's almighty fight destroys the Slaters in EastEnders
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has been really struggling in EastEnders recently, and Kat’s (Jessie Wallace) attempts to help ended up backfiring massively in as an almighty row broke out.
Terrified Stacey was facing jail after stealing from a cash tin at her cleaning job last week.
The mum-of-three had been desperate for the cash, having been struggling to make ends meet due to the cost of living crisis.
Tonight, she faced questioning at the police station, leaving her and the rest of the family unsure of what the future might bring.
Luckily for Stacey, after a few persuasive words to the security guard who caught her, the charges against her were dropped.
However, this wasn’t where her problems ended.
After arriving home, she was greeted by a new fridge freezer, after hers broke. It was a gift from Kat, who had broken into the ‘bank of Phil’ in order to help her family out.
That wasn’t where she stopped, though, having also treated the family to a takeaway and pregnant Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) to a new school uniform that fit.
Poor Stacey was already feeling like a terrible mother after missing Lily’s prize giving ceremony, and with Kat so frivolously splashing the cash, she was unable to keep her feelings in.
She accused Kat of forgetting what it’s like to live in the real world since becoming a Mitchell, leaving Kat defensive.
Kat insisted that she still worked for what she had, but Stacey wasn’t having it.
When Kat accused her of being jealous, Stacey admitted that she was.
She pointed out that she would love to ‘swan off on holiday four times a year’ like Kat does, but instead she’s exhausting herself by working two jobs to try and keep the family afloat.
The tables turned as Kat accused Stacey of putting her pride before her kids, stating that even when she was ‘dirt poor’ her boys were always dressed immaculately, referring to Lily’s old, ripped school uniform.
It was this that made Stacey really flip, accusing Kat of not understanding the lengths she has gone to for her kids.
Kat put the nail in the coffin by demanding that Stacey’s kids deserved better, leading Stacey to throw her food all over her cousin.
Though Kat tried to make her see that she knew what that felt like, Stacey was quick to point out that she has forgotten what it’s like to want to keep your pride when you’ve got nothing else.
She demanded that Kat get out, and she left warning Stacey that she was on her own now.
Will the Slaters ever recover from this almighty fight?
