Love Island’s Lana bursts into tears on date with Ron in a ‘fish pond’

Love Island star Lana Jenkins burst into tears during her final date with boyfriend Ron Hall, as she was overwhelmed with emotion.

The villa favourite, 25, who has been on a rocky journey with footballer Ron, also 25, has become known as one of the kindest and most genuine souls in the villa this year.

And as make-up artist Lana and Ron poured out their hearts to each other while munching on a breakfast feast decked out and set up in the middle of a river in South Africa, talk turned to family.

The couple started talking about being reunited with their families back home in the UK, and what their relatives would think of their new partners.

Yet as Lana started to say that she thought her mum would "love" Ron and she's her best friend, the tears started to fall.

Ron did his best to support his new girlfriend, as she gathered her composure to enjoy the rest of their date.

The beautiful setting was then only amplified by the wonderful South African choir who arrived to serenade them on the river bank.

As Lana and Ron stood up to sway to the music, the group started singing Elton John's Lion King hit, Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

But while the date was undoubtedly an epic one, some fans were completely baffled by the decision for Ron and Lana to go barefoot in a wild river.

Some were also worried there could have been fish biting their toes under the surface, but the couple grinned and looked relaxed the whole way through.

"Why are they in a pond? you would not catch me with my feet in that water for so long. Don’t wanna any fish sucking on my toes #loveIsland," one person tweeted.

Another wondered: "Wonder if that pond has the fish that eat dead skin in it #loveisland."

While a third was angry that the couple's date seemed to pale in comparison to Tom Clare and Samie Elishi's romantic lunch, which came complete with a harp, a ferrari ride across the water, and a stunning, decorated dinner table.

"Nah the producers are violating how r they giving Sammie and Tom a Ferrari and Roses and giving Ron and Lana a fish pond #loveisland," one fan said.

Another added jokily: "I feel like a fish nibbled on Ron’s toe #loveisland."

Later on in the evening, Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga also got their fairytale final date as they embarked on a fairylight-strewn romantic dinner together.

Shaq also asked Tanya to be his girlfriend as the couple cemented their relationship with a stunning dance to finish.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm with the final airing Monday, March 13 on ITV2 and ITVX
