Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltzs feud explained from wedding row to cryptic posts

Ever since Brooklyn Beckham married Nicola Peltz in April 2022, rumours of a rift between his new wife and mum Victoria have been rife.

Victoria, 48, and Nicola, 28, were once believed to be close, but ever since the actress tied the knot with Brooklyn, 23, things between the in-laws have allegedly turned sour.

The two began failing to acknowledge each other on social media last year and Brooklyn reportedly began spending a lot of time with the Peltz clan after permanently relocating to the US, where his new wife Nicola is based.

Most recently, it was claimed that Victoria was kept "in the dark" about errors in her son's wedding plans, with Nicola and her mum Claudia allegedly keen to keep any mistakes hidden from the ex-Spice Girls star last year.

However, Nicola and Victoria have since put on a united front at the fashion designer's Paris Fashion Week show on 3 March, with Brooklyn and Nicola reuniting with the Beckham family in France.

Here, we take a look into Nicola and Victoria's alleged 'feud' – and what the two ladies have said about it…

Social media

Victoria and Nicola once appeared to be close, with the duo regularly featuring on each other's Instagram pages.

The pair would frequently gush over one another online but after Nicola and Brooklyn's nuptials last year, Victoria and her new daughter-in-law look to have grown apart.

They've only liked a handful of each other's photographs on the app in the months since the wedding, and have failed to acknowledge some of each other's achievements.

Nicola didn't like or comment on Victoria's posts about her 29th Vogue cover, her wedding anniversary or Harper's 11th birthday, while the former Spice Girls star didn't interact with Nicola's posts about her Tatler magazine cover or her and Brooklyn's honeymoon.

Brooklyn's social media interactions with his family also appear to have lessened, with the star failing to mark Mother's Day online in 2022.

Brooklyn, who is now based in the US with Nicola, has grown extremely close to the Peltz family following his wedding, and Nicola has opened up about her father Nelson's bond with Brooklyn.

Speaking to Tatler magazine, the model previously said: “Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and also business things and it’s really sweet.

“I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.”

Separate holidays

It's no secret that the Beckham clan enjoy luxurious holidays and they can regularly be found jetting off to exotic locations with their children in tow.

However, eldest son Brooklyn hasn't joined his family on any of their recent trips and despite Nicola's family joining the newlyweds on their honeymoon last year, the Beckhams were absent from the romantic trip.

Victoria and David holidayed in Croatia and Italy last year with their three youngest children, Romeo, 20, Cruz, 18, and 11 year old Harper, but Brooklyn missed the family getaway and instead joined the Peltzs to celebrate Nicola's grandmother Bunny's 94th birthday.

The Peltz family have reportedly "really embraced" aspiring chef Brooklyn, with a source telling MailOnline: "There is a feeling that the Peltzes rather turn their noses up at the Beckhams… the way that they do things and their celebrity profile.

"Meanwhile, the Peltz clan has really embraced Brooklyn. There is a feeling that Brooklyn is now all about the Peltz family and not the Beckhams."

Nicola and Brooklyn's wedding was a star-studded affair which took place at Nicola's family estate in Florida and the couple pulled out all of the stops for their big day.

However, it appears that the pair's wedding could have been the start of the alleged fallout between the Beckhams and the Peltz family, with an insider claiming that the "wedding was all about the Peltz family."

David and Victoria were reportedly disgruntled when they were not included at the top table beside their son and his new wife.

According to MailOnline, an onlooker claimed that the Beckhams "were not at the forefront", and revealed: “There seems to be some sort of a distance between the Beckham family and the Peltz clan, and Brooklyn and Nicola appear to be drawing away from the Beckhams. It's probably only natural but they were very close to Brooklyn always.

“The Beckhams would not be the first parents to find it challenging when their children marry and get absorbed into someone else's family.”

Nicola kept wedding 'errors' from Victoria

Nicola allegedly tried to keep any wedding planning errors hidden from her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham.

It was recently revealed that the actress’ wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba are suing her, her mum Claudia and wedding designer Rishi Patel for damages of at least £41,000.

Nicola's dad Nelson is also suing Nicole Braghin and her business partner, Arianna Grijalba, as he claims they are refusing to refund him the $159,000 deposit he paid.

The new lawsuit claims Spice Girls star Victoria was "kept in the dark" during the planning of Brooklyn and Nicola's big day, with Nicola and her mother Claudia keen to keep any mistakes hidden from the fashion designer.

The court file states: “Both Claudia and Nicola had insisted that Victoria Beckham could not know about any internal mistakes regarding the ongoing planning of her son’s wedding, including any errors with the guest list.”

A source has also claimed that Victoria and David are "horrified" by the bitter lawsuit, which has seen many details about Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding made public.

“After launching legal action against the wedding planners, Nicola’s father is determined for this lawsuit to go ahead,” our source said. “But the Beckhams are horrified by the whole thing. It’s very expensive and it doesn’t put anyone in a good light.”

United front at fashion shows

Despite things reportedly being frosty between Victoria and Nicola, the pair have put on a united front in public over recent months.

In September 2022, Nicola and husband Brooklyn jetted to Paris to attend Victoria's spring/summer 2023 runway show in Val-de-Grace. The pair sported matching outfits and posed with Victoria and David, as well as Romeo, Cruz and Harper at the event.

Nicola and Brooklyn returned to Paris in March 2023 to support Victoria again, this time at her Paris Fashion Week show.

The couple were all smiles as they caught up with the Beckham clan, appearing to put any disagreements aside to enjoy Victoria's big moment.

Nicola previously shot down claims of a 'feud' between her and Victoria in an interview with The Times.

When asked about her relationship with her mother-in-law, the actress stated: "No family is perfect," before going on to reveal she took issue with the word 'feud' being used.

"It's not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, 'feud, feud, feud!? I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they're labelling it feud," she said.

Victoria is yet to comment on the matter.
