EastEnders fans left in tears over ‘heartbreaking’ Lola Pearce and Lexi scene

EastEnders viewers were left in tears during Thursday's episode as Lola Pearce started to lose her hair in heartbreaking scenes.

Only recently, Lola was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme after suffering with a seizure and has recently started undergoing radiotherapy appointments.

Lola had hoped the cancerous tumour could be removed but the surgery was unsuccessful and she was told in devastating scenes that she has terminal cancer.

During Thursday's episode, Lola, who is determined to spend as much time as she can with her young daughter, was left devastated to discover that she was starting to lose her hair.

In the scenes, Lexi started brushing her mother's hair to which she soon stopped as she said: "I was being gentle" to which she showed several strands on the brush.

Lola then touched her own hair to find more strands come away as she broke down in tears with her daughter comforting her in the "heartbreaking" moment.

Soap watchers were left in tears over the emotional scenes as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person said: "That scene with lola & lexi was heartbreaking #EastEnders."

A different account put: "#Lola’s hair is falling out. Lexi trying to comfort her was a touching scene. #Jola #EastEnders."

Another follower wrote: "The scenes between Lexi and Lola were beautiful yet so heartbreaking to watch as well. @DHaroldOfficial and Isabella Brown are incredible. ."

While a different viewer added: "These lola and lexi scenes just heartbreaking #EastEnders."

It comes as EastEnders shared its first look at Patsy Kensit’s character ahead of her Walford debut in the New Year following the news of her daughter's deteriorating health.

Patsy, who earlier this year got engaged for the fifth time, is set to join the BBC soap for a short stint as Emma Harding, the estranged mother of Danielle Harold’s Lola.

Emma left Lola and her father behind when Lola was only three-years-old, and has never been seen on screen before.

Now Lola’s mum will be coming to town, with scenes already filmed and ready to go.
