Schoolboy, 16, killed and teen fighting for life after motorbike 'crashes into garden wall' | The Sun

A SCHOOLBOY has died and a teenager left fighting for his life after a horror motorcycle crash.

The two lads riding the bike in Redcar, North Yorks, when they are thought to have smashed into a garden wall.

Emergency services dashed to the shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

A 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other lad, 18, was rushed to hospital with significant head injuries.

He remains in a critical condition.

Neighbours say police asked them to remains in their homes and they remained at the scene until around 6am on Wednesday.

According to witnesses, tyre marks were visible on the road while a wall outside one house had been damaged.

Several floral tributes have been left at the scene.

One neighbour told TeessideLive: "My partner and I heard a massive bang.

"We looked outside to see loads of blue flashing lights – it looked like all hell had broken loose in the street but we didn't see the incident itself."

Another added: "I was woken up by the police knocking on my door just after midnight.

"They told me to stay in my house while they dealt with it, I couldn't see anything apart from blue flashing lights and a lot of commotion."
