SAS Who Dares Wins star reveals secret tactic he used to get to show final | The Sun
CELEBRITY SAS: Who Dares Wins star Calum Best revealed he had a secret weapon to prepare for the show… the series' ousted Chief Instructor Ant Middleton.
Middleton sensationally left the series in 2021, with he and the production team offering differing accounts as to his exit. Channel 4 claimed his dismissal was due to "personal conduct" which included "inappropriate comments about females on set". In an interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain shortly after the exit, Ant dismissed the accusations as "military banter" and insisted he wasn't fired, but quit.
Either way, he became a hell of a useful source of information for Calum as he took on the challenge himself in this year's competition.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Calum said: "I probably shouldn't say it, but I actually messaged Ant [Middleton], because he’s a friend of mine. I messaged him and just said, 'Listen, mate, I've got this gig. Between you and I, what's the score?' And he gave me a bit of insight and he said, 'You're going to have a couple challenges a day. And the rest is just them breaking you down.'
"So I knew that every day I'd have something that would challenge me, that it was unknown, and the rest was just kind of that army experience of what they want to do to you.
"He knows that all you can say to someone is, 'Keep your s**t together.' You know what I mean? Stay strong, stay focused, remember why you're doing it, and I actually feel, no matter what advice someone gives you, nothing actually compares to what it is you go through in your own mind when you're there."

"I was gutted that Ant wasn't doing it because Ant's a powerful mind, but I was also happy Ant wasn't doing it because I know how hardcore he is!" Calum added.
The new Celebrity SAS course is run my DS staff Jason Fox, Mark Billingham, who remained on the show after Middleton's exit.
They've now been joined by new chief instructor Rudy Reyes, a former US Recon Marine, and Remi Adeleke, a former US Navy SEAL.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
