The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, wore a very stylish headband and a pair of diamond earrings. This followed a delay in getting to the service.

Jill donned a very elegant long-sleeved dress with four gold buttons on the front from Schiaparelli.

The First Lady combined the look with black tights and black suede pumps and was seen carrying a black leather clutch bag.

Headbands are a very popular option for important events such as funerals, and Jill chose a very unique piece for the occasion, with bow detail on one side.

“Luxe headbands” are a more casual accessory than a hat and fashion expert Miranda Holder explained they are the perfect option “for formal occasions” for those who “don’t want to divert too much attention away from the main focus of the event”.

Hundreds of heads of state, politicians and members of European Royal Families attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

Westminster Abbey hosted a total of 2,000 people and world leaders in attendance were asked to limit their use of cars, private jets, and helicopters in their journey.

A bus service was offered to transport guests, including members of the European Royal Families.

Following the funeral, world leaders and royals were invited to a reception in Dean’s Yard, within the grounds of Westminster Abbey, hosted by Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

Official protocol says invitations to the funeral are offered to each head of state, and their spouse or partner.
