Aadi would 'give up his life' for Kelly: Corrie star reveals shock exit drama

Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) finds himself in deep, deep trouble in Coronation Street’s explosive finale to the Gary Windass (Mikey North)/Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) story.

After Kelly discovers the truth the Gary killed her father, Rick, she hatches a plan to get her revenge on him. When this backfires, Kelly faces terrible danger, and it’s not long before Aadi and Gary are also involved.

Adam Hussain told us that Aadi is willing to put himself in danger for the woman he loves. ‘He’s nervous but I think he’s willing to help her because he loves her and cares about her and wants to protect her,’ he says. ‘So I’d say he’ll still do it even though he’s terrified. He is pretty much her knight in shining armour.’

He reckons that Aadi’s feelings for Kelly are real, and the two are drawn to each other because of their similarities as people. ‘I think Aadi does genuinely have feelings for Kelly,’ he says.

‘He’s willing to help her with dangerous things because he loves her and wants to protect her. They’re quite similar how they’re sort of outcasts and they’ve gone through a lot of hardships and troubles and they relate with each other through that. So I think they do care about each other.’

When Kelly makes the shock discovery about Gary she books tickets for her and Aadi for Bangkok. It isn’t a honeymoon, though – the tickets are one-way. Adam thinks that Aadi would be totally prepared to give up his life in Weatherfield for a new life at the other side of the world.

‘I think ultimately he would, because he’s not having a good time at home on the street. He’s been in car crashes and set on fire and been dumped and his found someone who understands him. So I think given the opportunity, he would runaway for a fresh start with Kelly.’

Adam has loved filming the epic stunt scenes for these episodes, he told us:

‘I think it’s brilliant. Just working on such an amazing script and story and having to be able to do stunts, because they bought in the cameras, a big green screen and volume wall, that they use in Hollywood films. To be able to work with those sort of devices and a crew were phenomenal. Everyone who worked on it was absolutely amazing, I think it was one of the best shoots I’ve ever done.’
