BBC Breakfast presenter Tina Daheley was caught red-handed using her mobile phone live on-air by her co-star Jon Kay.
In a baffling exchange, Tina – who is currently standing in for regular presenter Sally Nugent – whipped out her phone during a discussion about the Edinburgh Fringe festival's best jokes.
Beginning the conversation, Jon told viewers: "We want to hear your jokes, your best gags, your one-liners, your puns. Let us know this morning – email us, message us on Twitter or use the BBC Breakfast hashtag.
"Just make us laugh. Make us all laugh," he added, as Tina said: "Yes, please make us laugh!"
Tina then told Jon: "I have one. Shall I share it with you?" and took out her phone to begin reading the gag aloud.
She explained: "It's not mine," as Jon narrowed his eyes and murmured: "On your phone?"
Laughing it off, Tina said: "Yeah! I'll try and hide the phone," before reading: "My dad has suggested that I register for a donor card. He's a man after my own heart."
As Jon giggled, Tina explained: "That was a winner in 2016," and replaced her phone on the desk out of sight.
