Coleen Rooney ‘like a different person’ now Wagatha case is over: ‘She wasn’t herself’

The Wagatha Christie case is finally over and Coleen Rooney has been seen out and about letting her hair down after such a difficult time.

The wife of former footballer Wayne Rooney was seen hanging out backstage with Rylan Clark at Westlife’s Wembley Stadium gig last week.

The pair reportedly “got on like a house on fire,” according to a source. “They've both been through a tough time and are coming out the other side," the source told OK!. "It was the first time Coleen has really been out and let her hair down since the court case and her and Rylan just really hit it off.”

The 36-year-old recently won her case against Rebekah Vardy, 40, who filed a libel case against Coleen after the she accused Rebekah’s Instagram account of leaking fake stories to the press.

“She is so relieved that the case is over and she's like a different person now," the source added. "She said it was like a black cloud over her and she didn't feel like she could be herself properly but she's back to her best now.”

The dispute began in 2019 and in June 2020 the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy began the procedures to sue Coleen for defamation.

After a gruelling trial in May, the judge ruled in favour of Coleen, meaning Rebekah is faced with estimated legal costs of approximately £3 million. Our source continued: “She could never switch off, there was always another twist and turn.”

The TV presenter is starting to enjoy herself again and had a brilliant time at the Westlife concert. “It was a great night, she could let her hair down with her girlfriends and being with Rylan was really the icing on the cake.

“They're both very private people and don't let people in very easily but there will, without a doubt, being a friendship stemming from this. They both made each other's evenings.”

Westlife have a special place in the Rooney’s hear after they performed at the couple’s wedding back in 2008 in the beautiful Portofino, Italy.

Close friend Danielle Lloyd also revealed to OK! that Wayne and Coleen are closer than ever after the trial.

Discussing the court battle, she said: "It is a victory for them but I don’t feel like they can get stronger than they are.

"She gave an olive branch to Rebekah over a year ago and said, 'Let’s drop this and give the money to charity instead.' It’s just a shame for both of them, really.”
