PETER Andre has shared a touching post about his dad to mark his 89th birthday.

The singer, 49, praised his dad Savvas for inspiring him as a father- but his followers couldn’t get over his age.

Alongside an image of them together, he wrote:  “My father my hero. He turns 89 today. He said it’s only the first hundred years that are tough. It gets easy after that 😂

“Love you dad. You have inspired me in every way, especially as a father. Thank you for everything as always.”

His followers rushed to comment on the snap, with one person writing: “Wow 89 Amazing. Happy birthday 🎉💕🌈.”

A second wrote: “Aww wow your dad does not look 89 at all! It’s clear to see how much you love and adore both your mum and dad. Happy birthday Mr Andres dad!! X.”

Pete has previously revealed his desire to move to Australia to be nearer his mum and dad as they grow older.

The star, who was born in London, moved there when he was six and grew up on the Gold Coast, only returning to the UK when his music career took off.

Speaking previously about their age, Pete said: "The only thing that worries me about turning another year older is that my parents are getting older and my mum's health is really declining, which makes me sad.”

On another occasion, he explained: “I'm starting to get to that point where it's in my mind about moving back there.

"Obviously my reason is because my mum and dad are there – but my children and family are here, so it's not an easy thing.

"My kids might have kids, and they might be based in the UK, and these are all things I need to weigh up as I want to be where my family are."

The singer has two kids with ex Katie Price – Junior, 16, and Princess, 14 – and another two with doctor wife Emily – Theo, four, and Amelia, seven.
