AFTER the latest series of Love Island kicked off, many have been left questioning one contestant's name in particular.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is known for bringing the drama to the villa but many have also wondered where her unusual name comes from.

What does Ekin-Su's name mean?

Ekin-Su has become a main character in the Spanish villa after her romances with Davide Sanclimenti and Jay Younger, but also fans have wondered how she got her name.

Ekin is a Turkish name that has no gender and means "harvest".

Su is an uncommon feminine name with Turkish origin which means "water".

However, after old photos resurfaced of Ekin-Su, it was revealed that when she was in university she went by the name of Susie Hayzel.

What did Ekin-Su look like before Love Island?

Right before she entered the villa, the 27-year-old underwent a breast augmentation and got veneers on her teeth.

The star has been open about her surgeries which she got about eight months before going on the hit dating show.

For her teeth, Ekin-Su went to Dental Design in Antalya, Turkey where she spent around £4,000 for the procedure.

She told her followers that she got ten top teeth done and 11 on the bottom.

Ekin-Su had her breast surgery done in Istanbul, at Comfort Zone surgery.

She said she was in pain afterwards but had nurses looking after her 24/7.

Ekn-Su has found fame after appearing in Turkish TV series called Kuzey Yildizi (2020), which translates to North Star.

The Love Island star portrays the role of Isil in the series.
