Peter Andre defends buying son Junior a high-powered car as he gifts him £25k birthday Audi

Peter Andre has defended his decision to gift his son Junior a £25,000 Audi A1 car for his 17th birthday.

The 49 year old presented his son with his “dream car”, a flashy sports vehicle, for his birthday on Monday 13 June.

Junior, who is due to release his debut single Slide on Friday, was pictured on Instagram leant over his new black wagon, which has a personalised license plate.

He captioned the post: “Couldn't be more grateful right now.

“I'm releasing my debut single 'SLIDE' this Friday 17th June and my dad just got me the car of my dreams."

While the teen was excited about his car, some followers weren’t so enthusiastic, as they expressed their disapproval towards dad Peter for giving his son the "high-powered” car before he even has a full driving licence.

One person online commented at how “dangerous” the present is, as they wrote: “How dangerous buying a high powered car for a new driver!”

Peter quickly made clear that he has set rules for his eldest son, as he replied: “I’ve set rules. He did amazing with his bike. He needs a lot of lessons. He will be great. He knows the rules.”

The Mysterious Girl singer also posted pics of the car on his own Instagram, and told fans how "proud" he is of Junior.

Peter discussed finding the perfect vehicle for his son ahead of his birthday in his new! column, as he wrote: "It feels crazy that little J is now old enough to drive. He's a good kid and makes me proud.

"I spent last week looking for his first car and asked him to give me a list of models he likes so the present will be a surprise on the day. But I don't want him to go too flash. It's his first car and he needs to be sensible."

The TV star shared a clip on his Instagram of Junior enjoying his new Audi whilst sat behind the wheel next to his sister Princess, 14, in the driveway.

Pete added in the caption captioned: “I think he’s loving his new car.Happy birthday son. Now you just have to pass your test. @officialjunior_andre.

"Big thanks to @beany_man_ipswich_alloys for getting the wheels how he liked it in record time. I was so scared I wasn’t gonna have everything ready for him. Love you son.”
