Coronation Street spoilers: Horror for Gary as dead Rick's thugs attack him

Gary Windass is set to find himself in an incredible heated exchange in Coronation Street, as he encounters a number of deadly thugs.

Pictures reveal Mikey North, who plays Gary, filming scenes – including the intense showdown – on-location for the ITV soap.

Gary is seen handing over a bag of cash to the thugs, who are thought to be former associates of dead Rick Neelan.

The former loanshark slides the bag across the floor towards the heavies, who subsequently remove the cash and head off.

As noted, an intense exchange takes place, but will Gary be left fighting for his life? Or will he manage to get the upper hand on whoever it is that has antagonised him?

It’s been quite a year for Gary, after Rick’s body was recovered.

Rick, as viewers know, was murdered by Gary several years ago, during a heated showdown in the woods.

Gary successfully covered up the crime, and has since gone out of his way to make amends for what he did.

Terminally ill Laura (Kel Allen), however, was determined to find out the truth about what happened to her abusive ex before she died, as she was hellbent on ensuring Kelly (Millie Gibson) got her hands on his money.

But the investigation led to her finding out that Gary had killed him!

At first, Laura resolved to go to the police, so that Rick would be declared dead and Kelly could inherit his cash.

Kelly, however, discussed how much she loved living with Gary and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) during a conversation with Simon Barlow (Alex Bain).

Laura overheard this, and knowing she couldn’t let Gary be sent down for murder, she instead decided to tell the police that she killed Rick!

Kelly was appalled, as she came to believe her mum had killed her dad, and thus she decided against visiting in her hospital.

Laura subsequently died.

Rick, meanwhile, received a funeral, but a thug from his past showed up for the service and spat on his coffin, resulting in Gary punching him!

Could this former associate have any role in the upcoming altercation?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
