Geordie Shore star Robbie McMahon shares show secrets – including ‘forced date’

Geordie Shore star Robbie McMahon has revealed some secrets about the show and what it's really like to star on the reality favourite.

The tattooed hunk claimed that behind the scenes, stars are told to go on "forced dates" with their fellow cast members.

He also revealed that there can be simmering feuds between cast members hidden from public view.

What's more, Robbie reportedly claimed that the cast are banned from dinking too much alcohol and have strict rules in place to prevent them getting too drunk and rowdy.

The London-born star added that he "stripped" in the audition with the show's casting agents, which took place after multiple interviews on the phone.

"They asked me if I had been partying through the lockdowns and if I was still up for drinking and fun,” he told The Sun.

“You have to play up to your character, I showed up in my leather jacket acting like 'the bad boy' and even took my top off during the interview.”

The star then revealed he'd been asked by producers to go and chat up former X Factor singer Amelia Lily, and the pair ended up on a casual date in his first episode.

Unfortunately Robbie admitted he'd become tipsy from too much alcohol so had started to "waffle on".

As a result of the disappointing date, he claimed producers put him on a "drinking ban", but managed to sneakily get around it.

“We had a party that night and were filming late, so I asked some of the boys to smuggle me drinks," Robbie went on to the publication. "When the producers asked I pretended it was Coca-Cola."

OK! has contacted representatives for Geordie Shore for further comment on Robbie's claims.

Robbie went on to say he believed was seen as the "villain of the show" when he started chatting up Chloe Ferry straight after the date with Amelia was a bust.

He claimed everyone in the cast took a "disliking" to him afterwards, but insisted he'd never chosen to go on a date with Amelia and it was all the producers' doing.

“It was like I was engaged to her and was her property, but I didn’t like her and I was there to date, which is why I went after Chloe," Robbie explained. “I'd rather be me than be in some fake relationship, there were no hard feelings with Amelia, she just wasn’t my type.”

Robbie added that he believed the other stars "tactically voted" him off the show due to his interest in Chloe.

With the popular series sadly coming to an end after 11 years on air, fans will no longer see the likes of Robbie or some of the most famous stars such as Charlotte Crosby and Vicki Pattison taking part on the reality show again.

Fans can expect one final TV special to say goodbye to their favourite characters.
