Britain's Got Talent fans spot 'brilliant' moment terrifying Witch 'manipulated the judges' – did you see it?

BRITAIN'S Got Talent fans were in awe of the terrifying Witch after spotting the moment they manipulated the judges.

The mysterious auditionee gave Simon Cowell the impression he had a 50/50 choice when deciding which apple Amanda Holden should bite into: right or left.

However, smart wording meant the outcome was always going to be the same no matter the answer given.

Commenting on a clip of the act, one viewer said: "It's actually smart to ask the judge to choose left or right without telling him from which side so that in the end the witch always has control over which apple Amanda bites. Otherwise it would be truly horrific if she bites the one full of worms.

"This is brilliant. Simon said 'right' both of which the magician can easily manipulate into Simon choosing the right apple. It can either be on the Witch's right, or Amanda's right. Awesome."

Fortunately for Amanda the Witch made her chomp the one to its right, sparing her the cockroaches concealed within the left apple.

BGT fans complain their kids are too afraid to sleep after ‘scariest act ever’

Viewers have mounted a witch hunt – literally – ever since the magical crone appeared on Saturday's show.

Internet sleuths reckon they've struck on exactly who is behind the character by studying celebrity faces.

One eagle-eyed BGT fan now reckons magician Pete Firman is the most likely candidate – and have posted the 'proof' online.

The viewer took a picture of the witch and another of Pete, star of the BBC show The Magicians, and merged one into the other.

They tweeted the 'evidence' to him, writing simply: "Hmmm 🍎🧙‍♂️."

While it was compelling, the man himself didn't appear too convinced.

In fact, if Pete is behind the creepy character he certainly wasn't admitting it – insisting he didn't even know what it was.

He replied: "Christ! I’m terrified and I have no idea what this relates to."

The act began with the Witch appearing on stage, stomping down the steps and handing out apples to each of the judges in turn.

When it came to Amanda the witch held her wrist and one hand and a gnarled stick in the other.

They cackled: "Do you know why they say beauty's only skin deep? Because we're all rotten to the core."

A third hand then shot out of the witch's black cloak and grabbed the apple in Amanda's palm.

It then exploded into a collection of cockroaches and mealworms, which wriggled and crawled around the judges' desk.

Many theories about the witch's identity have taken hold in recent days with BGT illusionist Marc Spelmann one of the names in the frame,

Others claimed the character could be Amanda's old friend Keith Lemon in one of his disguises.
