EastEnders fan reveals unseen pics of June Brown on soap set as fans break down in tears over her kind gesture

EASTENDERS fans have been left in tears by the kind reply June Brown gave to a fan who wanted pictures of the show's set.

It comes after the soap legend, who appeared in 2,884 episodes of the BBC show as Dot Cotton, died at the age of 95 on Sunday.

After the heart breaking news was confirmed, many of her co-stars and fans took to social media to pay tribute to June.

One super fan called Shaun took to Twitter to share a lovely interaction he had with June many years ago.

He was desperate to see the set so he asked her if she could send some pictures of it – and decided to share the snaps for everyone to enjoy.

Shaun tweeted: "As a kid, gutted that EastEnders didn't do set tours, I sent #JuneBrown a disposable camera & asked if she could snap some set pics for me instead – the kindnesses of her heart she took time out to snap these for me.

Shaun also shared a signed picture of June as her alter-ego that she sent back with the camera.

June wrote on the pic: "Hope the pictures are ok, they were quite difficult to get.

"Love Dot."

The tweet has received a lot of attention as it currently has 40.8k likes and over 3000 retweets.

Many replied to the post pointing out how emotional they had got seeing the pics.

One wrote: "Not me with a lump in my throat on a Tuesday morning looking at these pics."

A second said: "My heart!!!!"

Meanwhile others praised June for her kind gesture.

Another tweeted: "What a lovely thing to do. Everyone I know who's met her said she was a lovely lady. A tv icon – She will be truly missed."

A fourth chimed in: "Legend. What a thoughtful lady. xxxxxxxxx."

On Monday after the BBC confirmed June's passing.

An EastEnders spokesperson said: "There are not enough words to describe how much June was loved and adored by everyone at EastEnders, her loving warmth, wit and great humour will never be forgotten.

"June created one of the most iconic characters in Dot Cotton, not just in soap but in British television, and having appeared in 2884 episodes, June's remarkable performances created some of EastEnders finest moments."

They added: "A very bright light has gone out at EastEnders today but we shall all be raising a sweet sherry in June's memory.

"Rest in peace, our dearest June. You will never be forgotten."

A statement from June's family, read: "We are deeply saddened to announce our beloved mother, June, passed away very peacefully at her home in Surrey on Sunday evening, with her family by her side.
