Disney Even Stevens Ren actress unrecognisable 19 years after iconic show ended

Disney’s Even Stevens actress Christy Carlson Romano looks virtually unrecognisable from her days as a child actor.

The 38-year-old was just 16 when she took on the role of main character Louis’ sister.

Christy also voiced the title character in Disney’s beloved cartoon Kim Possible, starred alongside Hilary Duff in Cadet Kelly and lent her voice to the video game Kingdom Hearts.

Her arch enemy Louis was played by none other than Shia LeBeouf, who has enjoyed a fruitful Hollywood career in films such as Transformers and Holes.

Since her Disney days, Romano has continued acting and has starred in many films such as Deadly Daycare and The Girl With The Photographs.

Most recently in 2019, she returned to her roots and played pop star Poppy Blu in Kim Possible and later that year started her own YouTube channel.

Christy’s Kitchen Throwback is a cookery show that sees Romano reunite with some of her former child actor friends, including Drake Bell.

An avid singer, Christy recorded songs for Kim Possible whilst she was filming as well as in a musical episode of Even Stevens, which consequently resulted in a record deal.

Once she quit Even Stevens, the actress went on to be the youngest ever performer to portray Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, but the role was harsh on her vocal chords.

Romano had to have surgery on her vocal nodules and has admitted to pushing her voice beyond its limits to impress during her auditions.

Since her iconic role as Ren Stevens, Christy has lent her voice to other major Disney projects including Lilo And Stitch: The Series and Big Hero 6: The Series, as well as Family Guy and The Penguins of Madagascar.

Since then, the successful actress married her husband, writer and producer Brendan Rooney, after two years of engagement and the happy couple have welcomed two children together.

She frequently updates her 565,000 Instagram followers on her life, including comments about motherhood and promotional material for her podcast I Hear Voices.

She recently interviewed Shelby Young, a voice actress known for her roles in Wild Child, Bridge To Terabithia and Boss Baby.
