EastEnders' Hunter Owen actor looks unrecognisable after reinventing himself as a rapper

EASTENDERS star Charlie Winter looks unrecognisable as he revealed he's stepped away from acting in favour of a rap career.

The actor played Hunter Owen who arrived in Walford with his mum, returning character Mel – played by Tamzin Outhwaite – in February 2018.

However, his character was gunned down by police just over a year after first arriving to the Square following a dramatic storyline.

Over two years since leaving the BBC soap, the 26-year-old has been putting all his energy into his music career.

The actor who goes by the stage name Chaz has wiped his social media clean of his soap past and has a handful of posed shots for his music career.

The most recent post was shared in November and sees him posing for several shots in a black and grey hoodie with a white chevron stripe while in the studio.

Captioning the pic, he penned: "It’s just been that sorta night, lately that’s all the time".

Charlie released his first rap single on YouTube in 2019 after recording it on a day off from filming in Albert Square.

EastEnders deserves to fail – it's a woke parallel universe which alienates fans

The actor's first effort was called Cheeky Chappy Flow and its video was filmed in London's Regent's Park.

The lyrics are full of banter about his looks, saying "keeping it simple smile and dimples," as he sends out a message to his "haters," saying "girls see you and they blink and leave".

Then in January 2019, he wowed his fans with the release of his second rap video, which samples Ultra Nate's classic 90s track Free in his track Overdue Freestyle, after it was confirmed he's been axed from the soap.

The gritty black and white video sees Charlie, who goes by the name Chaz, rapping about his life while hanging out with pals.

Charlie joined BBC soap EastEnders in 2018 alongside his on-screen mum Tamzin, who played returning character Mel.

Mel had fled Albert Square in 2002 after Hunter’s dad, Steve Owen, died in 2002 after the car he was driving crashed and exploded.

The pair then returned 16 years later and the teen was involved in one of the show's most dramatic storylines with viewers watching his character incarcerated after shooting his mum's cheating fiancé Ray Kelly when he threatened to kill her.

Mel helped him cover up the crime but in the end he was caught and he took the whole blame so Mel would remain free.

The mother had been determined to avenge her son by getting revenge on Jack Branning but she couldn't bring herself to do it in the end and there was disastrous consequences for her and Hunter.

Then over a year after moving to the Square, Hunter was killed by police after shooting Ben Mitchell and Keanu Taylor and trying to murder Louise after he escaped prison.
