No10 aides make sure Dilyn still gets his walkies as Boris isolates

I’m the boss now! No10 aides make sure Dilyn still gets his walkies as Boris isolates after family member tests positive

  • The Prime Minister’s family member who tested positive lives in Downing Street
  • But a spokesman would not say whether it was Carrie, 33, or one of their children
  • Guidance no longer requires vaccinated contacts of positive cases to self-isolate
  • But Mr Johnson also pulled out of a visit to a vaccination clinic in Lancashire

Just because Boris Johnson was isolating indoors after a member of his family caught Covid, it didn’t mean that Dilyn couldn’t go for his morning walkies yesterday.

Instead of setting off with the Prime Minister, the Jack Russell-cross was led out of No10 by a flunky in a suit and then passed to man with a van and a dog-walking business.

Mr Johnson also pulled out of a visit to a vaccination clinic in Lancashire even though official guidance no longer requires vaccinated contacts of positive cases to self-isolate.

The family member who tested positive lives in Downing Street, but a spokesman would not say whether it was the Prime Minister’s wife, Carrie, 33, or one of their children – Wilf, who will be two in April, or daughter Romy, who was only born last month.

A Downing Street spokesman said that Mr Johnson would ‘follow the guidance for vaccinated close contacts, including daily testing and limiting contact with others’.

The spokesman added that ‘he’ll be working from No 10, doing the daily tests and limiting contact with others both outside No 10 and indeed inside No 10 as well’.
