Naya Riveras Glee co-stars pay tribute to late actress on her 35th birthday
Naya Rivera's Glee co-stars have paid tribute to the late actress on what would have been her 35th birthday.
The late star, who played the role of Santana Lopez on the popular musical television series, drowned in a tragic accident on Lake Piru, Southern California on July 8, 2020.
And a year and a half after the tragedy, Naya's heartbroken former colleagues took to their social media to remember her on her birthday on Wednesday.
Heather Morris – who took on the role of Naya's on-screen partner Brittany Pierce – took to her Instagram Story with a never-before-seen polaroid snap of them together.
"Happy Birthday Nay," 34 year old Heather wrote.
She added: "[I] thought about keeping this private and only for me, but it's one of the only personal photos I have of us."
"Miss you so much, angel."
Kevin McHale also shared a stunning snap of Naya, where she was dolled up to the nines in a nude coloured dress.
"Happy birthday," Kevin wrote alongside a bee emoji.
Tina Cohen-Chang actress Jenna Ushkowitz shared a sweet black and white throwback snap of her with Naya.
She wrote in tribute: "Happy birthday Snixx."
Naya's former Glee co-stars weren't the only ones paying tribute to her, as her former husband Ryan Dorsey penned a lengthy tribute.
Sharing a black and white snap of the star with their six year old son Josey, he said that he was finally able to watch her videos.
"Made the visit today to see you, to spend some time," he began. Up the hill I went, memories flashing through my mind as I drive…
"The end is inevitable for all of our lives, passing other people doing the same, I see some wiping tears out of their eyes…
"Approaching where you rest, bouquet of daisies and baby breath. Trying to hold it together, feeling all I feel, eyes getting wet still can't believe it's real…"
He emotional continued: "Step by step walking by each marker it's all so surreal, Getting closer gritting my teeth trying to keep it together…
"I look up in the sky and notice the weather… I suppose trying to distract my mind but reality comes back quick nobody knows…why.
"Why you had to leave us behind… I hope it gets easier as time goes by, but forever is forever, and I'll never know why."
Ryan concluded: "Able to finally look at a couple videos today, I guess you can say I'm doing better…but better is just a better word for forever sad, this sh** is unbelievable forever – RD. "
