Sheridan Smith puts £1.5m Essex home she shared with ex fiance up for sale just days before horror car crash
SHERIDAN Smith put the £1.5m home she shared with ex-fiancé Jamie Horn on the market just days before The Sun exclusively revealed details of her high-speed car crash.
The 40-year-old listed bought the property in December last year and it's thought that, in less than 12 months, she's made a cool £250,000 profit.
Actress Sheridan's luxury barn is situated in the Essex countryside and fans were given a proper look inside when it became the setting for ITV's short drama series Isolation Stories.
Pictures show the home is a mix of modern and rustic, with exposed wooden beams throughout, a huge kitchen and a grand entrance with an impressive stairway.
In July Sheridan confirmed she and Jamie had split after three years together, after suggesting they were struggling to adjust to parenthood following the birth of their son Billy in May last year.
Following the break-up, they released a joint statement which said: "We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together."
Sheridan has since moved on with actor Alex Lawler, 40, who she first dated 20 years ago.
Last month the Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star made a nod to tough times with a post on Instagram, writing: "This year has been a whirlwind to say the least.
"There's been a lot of ups and some downs, but thankfully I've got some great people and family around me, supporting me."
Just days ago The Sun told how Sheridan had been involved in a horror crash and was "lucky to be alive" after smashing her £100,000 Range Rover into a tree as she swerved off the road in bad weather caused by Storm Arwen.
Severe damage to higher branches of the tree even suggested that Sheridan's car had been airborne when it hit.
Sheridan was driving on a narrow country road just 600 yards from her home in Essex on Saturday when the car left the road on a tight bend.
Police yesterday confirmed they had spoken the 40-year-old mum-of-one and her boyfriend in the wake of the smash but no other driver was involved and no crime had been committed.
A neighbour said: “Sheridan is so lucky to be alive. It could have been so much worse. Her car was stuck in the tree, it was a really bad crash.
“It could have been so much worse, she had cuts and bruises, but it could have been fatal, she was incredibly lucky. It was a brand new Range Rover, she hasn’t had it long. It’s almost a miracle she’s not hurt herself more.
“It’s an incredibly tight bend to take at the best of times, never mind in a freezing storm like Arwen. For the car to be actually stuck IN the tree it must have been travelling with some force. She managed to get back to the house then someone called the cops.
"But thank goodness there were land-owners to cut up the tree blocking the road or police would never have got through. It doesn’t bear thinking about what might have happened.”
Sheridan's horror-crash happened just 90 minutes before an episode of the Jonathan Ross Show – in which she featured – aired, which had sparked furious claims from Sheridan after the recording that it was “sexist".
