Forget popping to the supermarket for your weekly groceries, throughout the day on Friday 26 November you could be leaving the checkouts with a surprise Gucci purchase for as little as just £12 – you’re probably extremely confused right now and we’re just as surprised as you.
Not only is it Black Friday (the best day of the year) Asda have just made the day a whole lot better by hiding numerous vintage Gucci pieces in Asda stores across the UK, waiting for some lucky shoppers to bag themselves a bargain.
Never mind stocking up on toilet roll and petrol, you know what you need to do, get yourself down to your local Asda shop and get searching!
The long awaited film House Of Gucci, which stars the likes of Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek and Adam Driver, premieres on 26 November and we can’t think of a better way they could have celebrated.
Wondering what your chances are of finding one? Well, there’s 30 exclusive pieces which are hidden amongst the stores in the UK, the chances may seem slim, but George at Asda will be releasing teasers on social media throughout the day hinting where you might be able to find a vintage goodie.
Gucci items tend to range from around £145 for a pair of socks to £4,000 for a cosy coat so to find a piece for just £12 will be better than any Black Friday deal you might be searching for.
The project came about after a collaboration with vintage wholesaler PreLoved who is George at Asda’s sustainability partner as part of their ‘George for Good’ commitment.
You can now find second hand clothes in 50 Asda stores in cities such as London, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Brighton.
Steve Lynam, MD of Preloved Wholesaler LTD said: "Our Partnership with George at Asda is one that we are extremely proud of, so we’re delighted to be able to offer their customers the chance to pick up something they have always dreamed of owning in their local supermarket.”
You know what to do, run, don't walk!
