Coronation Street star Johnny Briggs’ daughter has said that she is “stunned and heartbroken” at being cut out of his £550,000 will.
The actor – who played the role of the womanising factory boss Mike Baldwin in the soap for 30 years – passed away back in February at the age of 85.
Following his death earlier this year, it has been reported that the dad-of-six left his UK and US assets including his house in Florida to five of his six children.
The Sun has reported that the established actor deliberately left out his eldest daughter after he disowned her in 1980.
It is believed that the relationship between the father and daughter broke down after 55-year-old Karen Briggs allegedly gave her daughter, who was 14 at the time, Class A drugs.
And things soon went from bad to worse when Karen and Johnny’s granddaughter, Emma Beach, now 37, were jailed for stealing bikes in order to fund their drug addictions.
Now Karen has told The Sun that she is now clean and that her and her father had made up in his final years.

Fighting back tears, she said: “He told me in 2018 that he wanted to give me some money but said, ‘If you put it up your nose or in your arm, how can I live with myself?
"But when I’m dead it won’t matter.’
“That’s when I last saw him, but we spoke on the phone regularly.”
She blamed family disputes for being snubbed in the will.

Twice-divorced Johnny earned up to £200,000-a-year as one of the ITV soap’s staple characters on the Cobbles until he finally bid farewell to Weatherfield in 2006.
After his passing, his estate was reportedly split equally between his five other children – Jennifer Davies, 43, Michael Briggs, 41, Stephanie Briggs, 39, Anthony Briggs and Mark Briggs, both aged 58.
Like his onscreen character, Johnny was a serial ladies’ man who was divorced twice and had a number of affairs throughout his life time, including one with an air hostess reportedly half his age.
Karen has since blamed her late father’s infidelities as being one of the main reasons behind her heroin addiction.
