‘Full House’ Star, John Stamos, Reflects on Performing in Front of Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle

Walt Disney World is the “most magical place on earth.” It only made sense for Danny Tanner to propose to his partner there. At the same time, Jesse Katsopolis and Rebecca celebrated their anniversary. DJ Tanner dreamed of happily ever after with her then-boyfriend, Steve.

This trip to Orlando was even magical for the Full House cast members. Here’s what John Stamos said about his experience during The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World.

‘Full House’ premiered two Walt Disney World themed episodes, titled ‘The House Meets the Mouse’

With Wake Up, San Francisco in reruns, Danny Tanner decided it was the perfect time to bring his family to the most magical place on earth.

For two episodes, fans saw the Full House characters visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios — different theme parks located in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. There were even some behind-the-scenes moments that stood out to the cast members.

“I remember my dad being there, and it was just a very special family time that I’ll never forget,” Stamos said during The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World.

John Stamos shared the most magical part of the ‘Full House’ trip to Walt Disney World

It’s been over 50 years since Walt Disney World opened its gates. As a result, the television special The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World gave an inside look into the theme park’s history. Some Full House cast members also offered inside into their Walt Disney World experience.

“The show was so popular at the time, and people were so excited to actually see the Tanner family at Disney World,” Candace Cameron Bure said. “They wanted to watch everything. They wanted to follow us.”

“The biggest thrill of that episode, I remember, was being able to play in front of the castle,” Stamos said. There was a clip of the episode where Jesse Katsopolis performed “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Disney’s Cinderella. He continued, saying, “And then right at the moment, pinnacle moment, fireworks are going off.”

Other television shows traveled to Orlando, including ABC’s comedy series, ‘Black-ish’

As a huge Disney nerd, Stamos appeared in other Disney World-related projects, including the recently-released Disney+ special, Muppets Haunted Mansion. In conjunction with American Idol, the actor traveled to the amusement park, mentoring contestants in the process.

Full House wouldn’t be the only series that traveled to Disney’s theme park. Years later, the Black-ish characters traveled to Orlando for a family vacation. For one Modern Family episode, the Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker clan spent the day in California’s Disneyland.

Full House episodes are available for binge-watching on Hulu. The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World is available exclusively on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.
