‘Tiger King 2’ Is Coming In Less Than A Month. Here's Everything You Need To Know About the New Season

Just when you thought your brain was still recouping from aaaaall the chaos that is Joe Exotic and his mullet and murder-for-hire schemes, Netflix goes ahead and drops a lowkey announcement that there will in fact be a season 2 of Tiger King. Missed it? It was kind of easy to unless you were paying uber close attention, don’t sweat it. But get this: The release date is way sooner than you think: Tiger King 2 will be available on the streaming service on November 17.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Tiger King showrunners revealed they have enough archival footage to potentially create a second season. With the titular Tiger King, Joe Exotic, still behind bars, Tiger King might seem to have a resolution. But other roadside zoo operators like Doc “Bhagavan” Antle and Mario Tabraue are still out there breeding, and Big Cat Rescue cofounder (and Joe Exotic enemy) Carole Baskin wants to take them on.

And anyway, we still have so many questions! Like, do Doc Antle’s “apprentices”/girlfriends/wives ever file charges? Does he euthanize his tiger cubs after they get too old for petting? Why did Baskin’s ex-husband Don Lewis disappear, and will Baskin herself ever be exonerated? Who burned down Joe Exotic’s recording studio? And, uh, what’s going to happen to all these tigers and lions and bears?

Plus, from prison, Joe is still hell-bent on “the truth” getting out. Whatever “the truth” is.

Tiger King has already become a huge success since its release on March 20—as of March 24, it was the number one most-watched show on Netflix in the U.S. So it would make sense for the creators to capitalize on the moment and deliver another season.

Says showrunner Rebecca Chaiklin to EW, “I mean, yes, we have a crazy amount of footage and it’s a story that’s still unfolding. We’re not sure yet, but there could be a follow-up on this story because there’s a lot that’s still unfolding in it, and it’ll be just as dramatic and just as colorful as what has unfolded these past few years.”

There’s no official confirmation of a season 2 yet, but if all that leftover footage comes to light, we have no doubt it’ll be just as colorful (and insane) as season 1.
