JK Rowling, my ar*e! – Ricky Tomlinson is set to become a children’s author.
But the TV legend, 82, had better mind his language as he’s famous for his potty mouth on The Royle Family.
Ricky told the Daily Star Sunday : “My project at the moment is a children’s book. I’ve got a log cabin in the Wirral, so during the day I get out of everyone’s way and go to the cabin.
“There is no-one there but me and I’ve been spending time there writing the book.”
Ricky hopes it gets the thumbs-up from little ones in his family.
He said: “I’ve got a few grandkids and a great-grandson, so I’ll read it to them.”
Writing proved to be a lifeline for Ricky during the lockdowns.
He said: “I absolutely loved it.
“It has kept me busy. Although my wife Rita makes sure I’m busy all the time anyway.”
Ricky is following in the footsteps of a string of TV favourites who have written books for youngsters.
Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams is one of the country’s biggest authors.
Others to give it a go include Alesha Dixon and Dermot O’Leary.
Earlier this year, Ricky's classic show The Royle Family was hit with a discriminatory language warning.
The BBC show, which ran between 1998 and 2012, was added to iPlayer but now some episodes have been given an "adult humour" warning.
The episodes come with a warning which reads: "Contains discriminatory language which some viewers may find offensive."
One episode, for example, sees Ricky's character Jim watch an episode of DIY favourite Changing Rooms, when he calls host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen a "nancy boy".
At the time, a BBC representative said: "Some older programmes on occasion contain language that some viewers find offensive, inappropriate or which have now fallen out of use, and for that reason, we do make that clear on iPlayer and elsewhere."
