Teen Mom Kailyn Lowry says she suffers from 'weight gain & cravings that take complete control over you' in PCOS battle

TEEN Mom star Kailyn Lowry admitted she’s been suffering from overwhelming “cravings and weight gain” amid her ongoing PCOS battle.

The 29-year-old MTV star has been very open about her health issues with fans over the last few months, detailing the ups and downs of her journey.

Kailyn first revealed she has PCOS, polycystic ovary syndrome, in March on her podcast after thinking she had cancer following heavy period bleeding.

To help Teen Mom fans better understand what she’s been dealing with, Kailyn shared a breakdown of some of the symptoms she’s been been suffering from.

The Instagram image featured a pie chart that explained “what it feels like to have insulin resistant PCOS.”

Going in order from smallest to biggest issues, those listed included: “Irritability, anxiety, weight gain, and monstrous cravings that take complete control over your body.”

Alongside the helpful photo, she added in big letters,”Me!”

When first revealing her diagnosis, she shared on her Coffee Convos podcast that she had such heave bleeding during her period that she would "bleed through everything."

She added her gynecologist order lab work and an ultrasound that found she had almost 10 cysts on one ovary, and the other had a cyst that was half the size of the organ.

Despite her mind quickly going to it being cancer, Kailyn was eventually diagnosed with PCOS, which affects women's hormone levels.

The TV personality later confessed about the "emotional" and physical toll that her PCOS diagnosis has had on her life.

Kailyn spoke to her podcast co-host, Lindsie Chrisley, about her strain over the condition.

She confessed: "I got emotional about the weight gain aspect of it… I'm still in that overwhelmed state of mind. I can't get a grip on changing my diet because I don't have an everyday routine…

"I am struggling. I'd be lying if I said I got the diagnosis, and I started right away exactly what I needed to do because I do know what I need to do. It's not an issue of knowing what I need to do."

She went on to explain that though many have offered suggestions in an effort to be supportive, "unsolicited advice" has set her back in the process.

Kailyn claimed that the tips were "not helping. It's making things worse for me.

Prior to this, Kailyn broke down in tears while speaking about her attempts to lose weight.

While drying her eyes with a tissue, the MTV star asserted that she had "tried" her best to shed some pounds but had seen no success.

This month, she shared that she's finally been seeing some success on her weight loss journey, revealing she's dropped 12 pounds.

Kailyn shared in a video for her Instagram stories: "So for those of you guys who have been following my PCOS journey, I want to give you guys a little update.

"Yesterday, I had my annual visit with my GYN, which is obviously TMI for Instagram, but here we are.

"But I did check my weight compared to my last annual, and I was down 12 lbs.

"And I was kind of excited about it because I feel like that was such a small win. But it was a win nonetheless."

Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout also has PCOS, and she has spent the last couple of years raising money for the disease.
