Resident Good Morning Britain medical professional Dr Hilary Jones has spoken out in support of Piers Morgan.
Appearing on the programme on Thursday Dr Hilary said that everyone should remember that "loyal" Piers has "a very generous heart".
Dr Hilary appeared on the programme today alongside hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.
The trio reflected on Piers' exit from Good Morning Britain with Ben joking "it's been a very quiet week".
When it came to Dr Hilary sharing his thoughts on Piers, he shared: "Piers did a very great deal to champion the mental health of NHS workers.
"I got into debates with him but he always held ministers to account and asked the secondary questions."
Dr Hilary continued: "He had a very generous heart."
He also said that Piers, 55 was "loyal" and "championed the little people – the people who had no voice."
"And we shouldn't forget that," he added.
Dr Hilary also said that "of course Piers Morgan had strong opinions that polarised people".
Elsewhere on the programme, Kate Garraway also shared her thoughts on Piers Morgan following his exit from Good Morning Britain after he reportedly refused to apologise for his comments about Meghan Markle.
She said: "He is very passionate, he does fly kites and have debates but it always come from a place of authenticity.
"He's left but our friendship will go on. He's been very supportive of me personally."
