Kate Middleton and Prince William are the parents of three children. They have followed many Royal Family traditions with the young royals over the years.

Still, there are some things the Cambridges have refused to do since their children were born.

The couple are the parents of Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.

Despite their young age, they are third, fourth and fifth in line to the British throne respectively.

This means the Cambridge children will probably have very important royal roles in the future.

To help prepare for these, Kate and Prince William have brought them up with some royal traditions in mind, show director at The Baby Show Zoe Bonser said.

She told Express.co.uk: “Kate is seen as traditional and this probably down to the responsibilities that Prince George will have one day.

“For instance, the children are always dressed in traditional British clothing for public appearances and Kate is happy for them to appear in photo calls.”

While the Duchess of Cambridge is comfortable bringing her children up with tradition, she has done some things her own way.

The expert claimed she has broken away from royal protocol to put family first.

“Kate also values quality family time and has broken some traditions,” Zoe continued.

“For example, sending George to a mixed school, dropping George off at school herself, and having her mum to help after births rather than an army of staff.

“Kate also values privacy and tries to keep the children away from the media apart from on more special occasions or events.

“Kate takes pictures herself, giving her the freedom and power over what is used in public – and a chance to use her artistic skills.”

The mother-of-three has opened up about her parenting experiences in the past.

Although she has spoken candidly, she has kept the children out of the public eye as much as possible.

The expert explained Kate may have looked to the parenting style of Princess Diana for tips on raising her children.

This may have encouraged Kate to use a more hands-on approach.

Zoe added: “Kate is also commended for following Diana’s hands-on parenting style and she also took George as a baby travelling for royal duties rather than leaving him at home with the nanny.

“Kate generally seems to be commended as a great and inspirational mum.

“She promotes that children deserve time, attention and love from their parents, advocates that children should speak about their feelings, be taught kindness, respect and honesty and greatly values the importance of hugs.”
