‘Insane’ bride slammed for banning wedding guests from wearing heels

Many couples set dress codes on their wedding day.

It’s widely accepted that guests shouldn’t wear white to upstage the bride.

But this lass went the extra mile to ensure she wouldn’t get overshadowed.

On Facebook’s That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming group, a bride was shamed for banning her friends and family from wearing heels on her big day.

The post reads: “The bride doesn’t ever like to wear high heels and won’t be wearing them herself for the wedding.

“She’s average height, around 5’5”, and most of the bridal party are similar or a little bit taller.”

The post continued: “There are no issues with height-matching groomsmen and no medical reason for the rule.

“The bride just hates heels and hates being made to wear them at other people’s events, and thinks that she’d prefer no heels for everyone, to feeling like a hobbit or looking less attractive/formal than all the girls in heels.”

Facebook users branded the bride’s rule “insane”, with many saying it’s wrong to impose rules on wedding guests.

One responder wrote: “That’s insane. She isn’t in charge of them, I love wearing heels and wear them every chance I get.”

Another asked: “So she hates when other people tell her what shoes to wear to a formal event, but she’s imposing it on her guests?”

And a third added: “Imagine being so insecure that you impose restrictions on other people’s clothing.”

Despite the backlash, some defended the bride.

A Facebook user argued: “It’s her day – whoever doesn’t want to be barefoot or in half-inch shoes, don’t go and don’t be part of it. It’s simple.”
