Mrs Hinch’s bargain style secrets, from £1 thongs and Tesco dresses to the Primark beauty buy she swears by

CLEANING guru Mrs Hinch not only influences how we get our homes sparkling but the fashion and beauty products we buy too.

After the Essex “cleaningfluencer”, aka mum-of-one Sophie Hinchliffe, wore a £16 polka-dot dress from Tesco last week,  sales of it soared 26 per cent.

Her cheap and cheerful tips to tidy homes using B&M and Poundland products has won the 30-year-old a 3.5million-strong “Hinch Army” of fans — and they are lapping up her style advice too.

But you don’t need to feel the pinch to look like Mrs Hinch.

Here, we reveal how to get her bargain look.

£1 knickers & eBay steals

Mrs Hinch always looks a million dollars, but her signature style costs next to nothing.

The busy mum, who is married to 39-year-old sales manager Jamie, and has one-year-old son Ronnie, loves basics that you can buy in multiple colours — and anything loose fitting and fluffy is a hit too.

Showing off her new £16 supermarket purchase a few days ago, she wrote: “I’m so happy with this dress I could cry.”

Searches for polka-dot dresses rose 23 per cent according to

It had been a similar story in the second week of June after Sophie showed off a £7 eBay jumpsuit on Instagram and searches for polka-dot jumpsuits shot up 37 per cent.

Not one for designer labels, eBay is often Sophie’s first stop for clothes.

She also bagged a leopard-print smock dress for £7, which she has since bought in four other colours.

Sharing almost everything with her fans, Mrs Hinch recently revealed her favourite pants are £1 thongs from Primark.

Sophie said she will not wear any other brand and revealed how she tried out a pair of shaping underwear once, but never again.

We all want Sophie’s look, so what next?

There have been rumours of a Mrs Hinch collection with online brand In The Style.

While this has yet to be confirmed, its CEO Adam Frisby commented on a post of Mrs Hinch’s vision board saying “Hope an @inthestyle collection is on that vision board!”

He added: “You’re bl**** amazing just the way you are . . . you can just be you! That’s why everyone loves you! #mrshinchxinthestyle it’s got a nice ring to it.”

Bargain hair secret

Last year, blonde Sophie shared a throwback photo as part of the social media Ten Year Challenge craze and fans were shocked by the transformation.

Most significant was her shorter brunette locks which are now long golden tresses — usually loose and long or tied on top of her head.

While she is fairly frugal in her fashion buys, former hairdresser Sophie splashes out on her hair, wearing clip-in extensions, costing between £114 and £149.99 from

She always protects her locks by sleeping in a hair wrap, which she buys from eBay for £2.95.

She does credit posh hair serum Eufora Style Pure Polish — £25 a pop — for keeping her hair extensions ship shape, and £129 GHD

Soft Curl Tongs for effortless curls.

But it is the got2b Powder’ful Volumizing Styling Powder, at just £2.49, that she says adds volume.

The £3 golden glow

Mrs Hinch gets a helping hand from celebrity make-up artists Mikey Phillips (@makeupbymikey) for her most glamorous looks.

But Mikey previously revealed he uses high street products on Sophie — including £7.99 Barry M Chisel Cheek Contour Creams and MUA Undress Your Skin Highlight Powder in Golden Scintillation, just £3.

For those big, bold lashes, she swears Lash Magnifique’s Paige lashes.

The £12 3D faux mink lashes featured in the make-up section of her book Hinch Yourself Happy.

When she is at home, Sophie has a quick and easy routine.

For her skin she uses The Ordinary’s Squalane Cleanser, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA which come in a set of three for £15.

And Sophie uses Superdrug’s £3.50 Vitamin E eye cream.

She primes her pout with Primark’s £2.50 lip hydration drops.

One of her favourite full coverage foundations is L’Oreal Paris’ £9.99 Infallible Eggshell.

And she swears by Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Concealer, at £8.99.

Regularly, brands see sales spike if Mrs Hinch posts about their products.

Dr Pawpaw had sales of its Shea Butter Balm triple after Sophie put it on an Instagram story, while Tweezerman’s slant tweezer in midnight sky had a 150 per cent uplift when she shared that she liked to use it.

Body transformation

It was not just Mrs Hinch’s brunette hair that surprised fans when she shared a throw-back picture of herself last year, but how her face looks thinner too.

Sophie has since said she had gastric-band surgery when she was 21 after struggling with insecurities over her weight.

Sophie lost 8st after the £6,000 surgery, but said in Hinch Yourself Happy: “I was naive and I did something I will always regret.”

After posting the Ten Year Challenge snaps, she warned: “Don’t be fooled by these ‘glow ups’ guys. Please don’t focus on anything other than what’s inside, because that’s all that really matters.

“Without feeling happy on the inside, no amount of ‘glowing up’ on the outside will help. Trust me on that one.”
