Patriotic memorabilia

‘I’ve been obsessed with the Union Jack ever since representing the UK’ said Daley in an interview with the Evening Standard’s Home and Property.

Their sofa is patterned with the flag and was by British furniture designer Timothy Oulton, currently priced at £4945.

Elsewhere in the flat the couple boast a print of David Hockney’s picture ‘A Bigger Splash’, showing a diving board in LA in a nod to both of their careers.

Family photos

Dustin is known for his 2008 biographical film ‘Milk’ and struck up a romantic relationship with the swimmer in 2013 after meeting at a party. The pair are pictured celebrating Tom’s birthday

Their living room shelf is decorated with personal photos of loved ones, with a heart shaped frame holding a loved-up picture of Tom and Dustin.

Twenty years Tom’s senior, Dustin is known for his 2008 biographical film ‘Milk’ and struck up a romantic relationship with the swimmer in 2013 after meeting at a party.

They welcomed their son via surrogate in 2018 and named him after Tom’s late father Robert, who died in 2011 aged 40 following a battle with brain cancer. At least one of the photographs is thought to be of Robert’s.

In an interview with The Times, Tom said they both provided sperm to fertilise their surrogate’s eggs, but do not wish to know who the biological father is.

The home’s interiors includes exposed brickwork and uneven raw finishes, and the screenwriter told Home and Property how the brickwork is one of his favourite elements of the flat.

The producer explained that after searching for  a new property, he felt many of the interiors were a similar style and was drawn to the different style of this property.

He said: ‘A home needs to be somewhere I can be creative in. It has to have a certain spirit’.

Chic and simple decor

Another touch to the flat that was added by the couple was the alternate-tread steel staircase which leads to the roof terrace, boasting it’s very own hot tub

The spacious and light-filled conversion has chic and simple decor, with dark paint paired with wooden beams adorning the walls.

The home has  bespoke kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and dining table all by Brandler London as well as dark concrete worktops by Paul Davies Design.

Stylish steel staircase

Another touch to the flat that was added by the couple was the alternate-tread steel staircase which leads to the roof terrace, boasting it’s very own hot tub.

The staircase was designed by London architects Coupdeville who helped redesign the flat when the family first moved in.

The minimalist and space-saving staircase has black wooden paddle-shaped treads with steel bars lining the gap in between the steps, creating a light and spacious feel in the room.

Bursting bookshelf

While Tom is known for his athletic achievements, he’s also published several books – some of which are sure to be found on the couple’s packed bookshelf.

Tom has released cookery books, children’s stories and in 2012 published his first official memoir ‘My Story’ which follows him coping with the death of his father while under the glare of the world’s media spotlight.

Meanwhile, Dustin published his autobiography Mama’s Boy : A Story From Our Americas in 2019.

The memoir follows his story of growing up as a gay Mormon in Texas, and how his mother, who passed away in June 2014, taught him about overcoming the stigma of his sexuality.
